Determining the fair market value of privately held companies and real estate is often a key component of individual and generational tax planning and reporting.
It is important to have a defensible valuation performed, based on the IRS guidelines and precedent set by the latest, most relevant court cases. Any discrepancy between what the transferring entity and the IRS believe are fair market value can result in a greater gift tax liability and potential penalties for the company.
Cabrillo is well versed in the most appropriate valuation methodologies, discounts and requirements for gift & estate tax purposes.
Companies are faced with numerous financial decisions, many of which are one-time events. At Cabrillo Advisors, we know that the combination of our expertise with your knowledge of your company and industry can lead to optimal solutions.
