SAN DIEGO,  July 01, 2014 – Dean Colvin has been promoted to Managing Director and Valuation and Transaction Advisory Services Practice Leader at Cabrillo Advisors, LLC (“Cabrillo”).

“Mr. Colvin joined Cabrillo in July 2013 and has been instrumental in leading the practice and managing the strong growth of our firm, which can only happen with the trust our clients have shown in Dean and his team,” said Wade Hansen, Cabrillo Founder and Managing Director.

Mr. Colvin brings to Cabrillo nearly twenty years of valuation and transaction advisory service experience, serving both public and privately held companies. He has applied this experience on matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, fairness opinions, solvency opinions, strategic planning, financial reporting, corporate tax planning, estate and gift tax, restructuring, portfolio valuation, employee stock ownership plans and litigation.

Prior to joining Cabrillo, Mr. Colvin was a Senior Vice President at FMV Opinions, where he was a leader in the firm’s Southern California Valuation and Advisory Services practice. Before FMV, he was a Vice President, officer and shareholder at Houlihan Lokey, where he managed valuation and transaction advisory assignments for a variety of purposes. Dean began his career in the Corporate Finance and Transaction Advisory Services practices of Ernst & Young and Deloitte.

Mr. Colvin earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at the University of Southern California and an MBA at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. He is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Representative (Series 7, 63 and 79).
